Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo can be considered as first car producer which began to create sports cars in Milan in 1910. The first example was HP 24 which surprised by its speed and handling. The chief designer since 1910 till 1923 was Giuseppe Merosi. After his retirement, racecar driver Franco Ferrari offered Vittorio Jano to leave his work at Fiat and continue work of Merosi. Recently Alfa Romeo returned to the US market with new creation - 8C Competizione – which can boast by 4.7L 6-cylinder engine and a top speed of 181 mph
Ferrari
After driving Alfa Romeo cars, Enzo Ferrari came to conclusion that he wanted to create his own sports cars. He achieved his success after World War II. Ferrari’s cars took first places in Formula 1 Championships, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the World Sportscar Championships during 1950-ies. One of the most notable lines of Ferrari’s sport cars is Ferrari’s Gran Turismo with its masterpiece 2007 599 GTB Fiorano.
Lamborghini
Ferruccio Lamborghini began to create sports car not because the admiration of these vehicles but in order to give a good lesson to Enso Ferrari. According to the history, Lamborghini bought Ferrari 250GT and when he testes the car, he was rather upset and unsatisfied. He came to Enzo Ferarri and complained. Enzo became also rather upset that’s why he sent him away. Lamborghini came back, dismantled the car, change those parts which were not good and the car became much better. Since that time Lamborghini decided to make sports cars which will be much better then Ferrari’s ones. Today Lamborghini sports cars are considered as iconic cars. Such models as Countach, Diablo, Murcielago, Reventon excite people’s imagination.
Aston Martin
Aston Martin was founded by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin in 1914.Their desire was to create sports cars and win in racecars competitions. But it became possible only after coming David Brown who became managing director. In 1947 they were able to present themselves as producers of high quality sports cars. In 1950 they began DB line which cars today are considered as top sports cars.
